Naragonia Quartet
Nehalennia is the fourth album by the Naragonia Quartet. On this record, the quartet continues to uncover delicate musical treasures. With a special sensitivity to strong melodies, the quartet creates a highly distinctive sound that others often describe as The sound of Naragonia. Once again, the quartet remains faithful to its uncompromising quest for pure beauty and authenticity, a formula that has, for nearly 20 years, resulted in powerful music that has helped put Belgian folk on the map in many corners of the world. Some tracks from previous albums have even grown into “traditionals” within the folk scene and are now played almost everywhere.
Since its formation in 2006, the Naragonia Quartet has brought its music to stages all over Europe. The group consists of Pascale Rubens, Toon Van Mierlo (Hot Griselda, Novar, …), Maarten Decombel (Mandolinman, Snaarmaarwaar, …), and Luc Pilartz (Panta Rhei, Trio Trad, Faran Flad, …). Together, the four musicians create their own universe, shaped by melodies that tell powerful stories.
