Trad Records is an independent record label for folk and roots music. The label was founded by Ward Dhoore (Trio Dhoore, Spilar, Estbel) and Jeroen Geerinck (Hot Griselda, Spilar, Novar). Since 2015 they are working together at Studio Trad, a video and audio production company in Aalst, Belgium. In 2018 they decided it was time for a new collaboration; a record label.

“We founded the label in 2018. Both musicians ourselves, we felt a great need for a collective. A collective of bands releasing music with an original and contemporary vision on folk music. With this label we want to help our favorite musicians and songwriters get their music to an audience that will love it. We want people to (re)discover folk and roots music and introduce them to bands with a modern approach to this music. We specialize in folk and roots music but there are no boundaries to our tastes; who knows what the future will bring!”
