Hartwin

Hartwin is a diatonic accordionist and composer. His instrumental music has moved people worldwide for many years. He is known for his simple and melancholic melodies that leave plenty of room for the listener's imagination.

With 'Unfolding', Hartwin invites us to look into the depths of his soul. Together with a trio of strings, he creates a beautiful musical universe; a 'soundtrack' for the listener's inner film. He composed the first musical themes for 'Unfolding' in Estonia, where he lived on the island of Saaremaa between 2015 and 2021. The influence of the beautiful, vast Estonian nature is woven into the meditative music on this record, which brings peace and makes the listener travel inward.

For the string arrangements, Hartwin consulted conductor Gabriel Hollander, resulting in a unique collaboration between two talented and musical souls with very different backgrounds and approaches. Hartwin is self-taught, a dreamer, a feeler, and a fantasist. With his head in the clouds, he composes wonderful melodies. At the same time, Gabriel, a respected and valued conductor with a wealth of theoretical knowledge and craftsmanship, puts every note in the right place. Their friendship and appreciation for each other shine through in the nine beautiful songs on this record, which bridge the gap between folk, classical, and film music.
