Andries Boone has been a stalwart of many Belgian renowned artists for almost 20 years.
In 2001 he was co-founder of the cinematic experimental band ‘The Ballroomquartet’.
In 2011 he founded the mandolin quartet ‘MANdolinMAN'. Now, he finally releases his first soloalbum, called C.O.L.O.R.S.

March 2019 Andries released his solo debuut C.O.L.O.R.S; an instrumental record, built around the sound of the acoustic mandolin and inspired by contemporary big bands, music from the baroque era and movie scores by the likes of Henry Mancini and Lalo Schifrin. All track titles are inspired by the industrial poetry of Peter Van Eyck, an artist who hails from Louvain (Belgium). Peter links colors he sees to automobile brands and their
corresponding color name.

After C.O.L.O.R.S (2019), Andries Boone released his second solo album, called ‘T.I.M.E.L.A.P.S.E’.  The album was composed and recorded during the second Covid-lockdown in 2020. Each track corresponds to a specific moment in time, is linked with an emotion and reflects a filmic mood and state of mind.

With ‘C.O.N.V.E.R.S.A.T.I.O.N.S’ Andries Boone releases his third solo album. On ‘C.O.N.V.E.R.S.A.T.I.O.N.S’ the acoustic mandolin enters into dialogue with the electric mandolin. Boone delivers his most progressive and cinematic folk album to date, seasoned with violin, accordion, bass synthesizer, bagpipes, drums and hurdy-gurdy. Some compositions get an extra dimension thanks to the field recordings of the Naskapi Indians that Andries managed to make during his concert tours in Canada with MANdolinMAN. Major sources of inspiration for the new album are Mike Oldfield's ‘Discovery’ (1984) and Pink Floyd's ‘Wish You Were Here’ (1975).

The majority of the instruments are played by Boone himself, but there are many beautiful musical guest appearances on the album, such as Mario Goossens (Triggerfinger) on drums and Michel Hatzigeorgiou (Aka Moon, Toots Thielemans, Philippe Catherine) on the bouzouki. The string arrangements were made by Koen Toté Artist and Stijn Vandebril provided some very beautiful figurative black and white charcoals drawings by Andries that form the basis of the artwork.
